Nurturing and Developing a Resilient Child
Nurturing and Developing a Learning Resilient Child
by Dr. Moo Swee Ngoh
Children experience ups and downs, socially and learning-wise, as they grow. They need to have the ability to overcome adversity and obstacles, and to persist when faced with challenges and not give up. Having a sense of resilience will help them get through the tough times, bounce back from set-backs and failures, and achieve more at school. They need to establish resilience in learning and become lifelong learners.
Children’s resilience can be nurtured and developed. As parents, you need to understand its contributing attributes and what to work on in order to promote resilience in your child. In this workshop Dr Moo will share the characteristics of resilient learners, the domains that contribute to resilience, and how you can develop your child as a resilient learner.
