Communicating and Managing Emotions
Communicating and Managing Emotions Effectively in the Family
by Mr. Jason Ng
Your children face many different challenges in different period of their lives – from coping with school work and peer pressure, learning to get along with others to exploring their own identity, managing their emotions and keeping anger at bay.
Growing up especially through the teenager years is a rather traumatic phase that is both challenging and full of perils. It does not help that parents, especially first time parents of teenagers have difficulties understanding the psychological dynamics that our teenager is going through – a potent cocktail mix of conflicting desires and wants.
To help parents prepare ourselves and our children to “ride out” challenging phases of growing up, family life educator Jason Ng will share in this workshop practical parenting techniques and values that will help improve communication between parent and child. At the same time, Jason will provide you with simple tools to engage your teenager for achieving better self awareness of him or herself. The techniques that will be shared are easy to learn, yet effective if parents take action. Jason will also share on how to help your children control their emotions, manage their anger and reduce their stress and anxiety in school.

The book is a powerful account of his coaching sessions with parents whose children are beyond parental control in their computer hours.

( www.mediacorpradio.sg/spc09 ). He was also interviewed by “The Living Room” on 938LIVE to share his knowledge with concerned parents on this subject.
Jason is happily married to Emelyn Ho, a teacher with an immense passion for the Chinese language, with whom he shares the joy of raising two lovely children – Faith and Caleb. Being a committed father, Jason inspired Faith, 12 years old and currently in her PSLE year to publish and launch her book “Happily Evr After” during the June holidays this year.
